Isabela Gava de Souza: An Inspiring Journey Between Brazil and France
June 21 2024For International Women in Engineering Day, AgroParisTech wanted to showcase one of its international alumna, Isabela Gava de Sousa, currently UX Sensory Design Manager at Danone.
Isabela began her studies with a bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) in Brazil. In 2016, she enrolled in AgroParisTech through the BRAFITEC program. She directly entered the second year of engineering studies, specializing in Process Engineering and Manufacturing, which gave her the opportunity to carry out her final internship at Danone Nutricia Research.
Alongside her studies, Isabela gave back to the community through the Cordées de la Réussite program, mentoring teenagers and helping them find their path to success. Her performance is all the more impressive given that Isabela learned French in just six months so that she could pursue her studies at AgroParisTech.
After graduating from AgroParisTech with an engineering degree, Isabela returned to Brazil to conclude her studies, while also taking advantage of an internship opportunity at Danone in Sao Paulo. That was when she decided to change course and specialize in sensory analysis. Her quest for knowledge brought her back to France, where she entered the second year of a master’s degree in Engineering and Food Design at Paris-Saclay University.
Today, as UX Sensory Design Manager at Danone, Isabela continues to innovate and share her expertise. She is currently supervising a young Brazilian intern who is following in her footsteps.
