June 19 2025Surveys on employability are conducted annually as part of the Conférence des Grandes Écoles to monitor job placement for young engineering graduates from AgroParisTech.
Survey of recent graduates - 2025
The survey was conducted between December 2024 and March 2025 among the last three graduating classes of AgroParisTech (2022, 2023, and 2024) from the engineering program. A total of 1,189 people were surveyed and 887 responses were analyzed, representing an average response rate of 75%.
Situation in February 2025 for graduates from 2024, 2023, and 2022
In February 2025, 68% of engineers graduating in 2024 were “in employment”:
- 54% in professional activity;
- 3% in voluntary work;
- 12% in doctoral studies;
- 8% continuing their studies;
- 18% looking for work;
- 5% in other situations.
In February 2025, 92% of engineers graduating in 2023 are “in employment”:
- 78% in professional activity;
- 1% in voluntary work;
- 14% in doctoral studies;
- 1% continuing their studies;
- 5% looking for work;
- 1% in other situations.
In February 2025, 89% of engineers who graduated in 2022 are “in employment”:
- 74% in professional activity;
- 2% in voluntary work;
- 13% pursuing a PhD;
- 3% continuing their studies;
- 6% looking for work;
- 2% in other situations.
Sectors and organizations recruiting
The sectors hiring graduates are very diverse. The top five sectors for the three graduating classes combined are:
- consulting and service companies (21%);
- government (14%);
- agri-food (10%);
- public and private education and research (9%);
- agricultural or forestry professional organizations (9%).
Remuneration
Salaries vary according to the type of company, the sector of activity and the position held. The highest salaries are in private companies, catering, consulting and service companies, other industries, infrastructure and networks, and in auditing, expertise and certification, management and purchasing and logistics.
Employment characteristics
Among graduates in employment, 58% of young engineers have a permanent contract and 7% are civil servants, while 34% are on fixed-term contracts. However, 24 months after graduation, 75% are on permanent contracts, 4% are civil servants and 20% are on fixed-term contracts.
Geographical location
Of the graduates in employment, across all three graduating classes, 49% are based in the Île-de-France region, 46% in other regions of France, and 5% abroad.
