Junior Professorship Chair (CPJ) Recruitment 2026
September 15 2026The Junior Professorship Chair (Chaire de professeur junior – CPJ), established by Decree No. 2021-1710 of 17 December 2021, constitutes a new recruitment pathway based on a research and teaching project.
This recruitment, based on a research and teaching project, is open to teaching and research staff holding a doctoral degree or an equivalent qualification.
AgroParisTech is recruiting for a Junior Professorship Chair in Plant Genome Editing to support the development of new cropping systems and products or services.
The position is to be filled from Monday, 14 December 2026 and at the latest 31 January 2027.
Candidate selection
Candidates are selected by a selection committee composed of six members, the majority of whom are specialists in the relevant field of research.
The application process will take place in 2 phases:
- The declaration of candidacy on the Paris-Saclay university website – by 21 September 2026
- Submission of a scientific report – by 21 October
The selection committee carries out an initial review of the applications, in particular on the basis of the research and teaching project submitted by each candidate.
Following this review, the committee draws up a shortlist of candidates to be invited for an hearing associating an interview and a public teaching class with a subject communicated seven days prior to the audition. Only candidates who have been shortlisted on the basis of their application by the selection committee will be invited to the hearing.
Following the interviews, the selection committee deliberates and makes its decision based on the candidates’ merits and their suitability for the research and teaching project for which the position is being recruited.
At the end of the selection process, the successful candidate may, subject to the opinion of the relevant bodies, be offered a Junior Professorship Chair contract.

The Order of 6 February 2023 on the general procedures for transfers, secondments and competitive recruitment of associate professors, professors and junior professors (maîtres de conférences, professeurs des universités et chaires de professeurs juniors) specifies the application procedures, including the documents to be submitted and the application platform.
Applications must be submitted entirely online. The application must be submitted via ODYSSEE. When searching for the position, the Junior Professorship Chair will be distinguished from other teaching and research positions by the recruitment article (“CPJ”).
The application must include the duly completed CPJ application form*, specifying in particular :
- the curriculum vitae ;
- teaching and research activities ;
- the exhaustive list of contracts and funding obtained in connection with research activities ;
- the exhaustive list of publications, books, patents and presentations.
* This form must be uploaded in the “Qualifications and publications” (“Titres et travaux”) section when submitting the application documents.
