February 06 2025In 2025, AgroParisTech will celebrate the bicentenary of the École forestière de Nancy. Two centuries of commitment to excellence in forestry science and natural resource management. On the occasion of the 2025 International Agricultural Show, AgroParisTech invites visitors to an immersive and fun experience around water and forests.
Celebration of the bicentenary of the Nancy Forestry School
Founded in 1825, the Nancy Forestry School embodies two centuries of excellence and innovation in the training of future forest managers. This anniversary is a unique opportunity to recall the fundamental role of forests in solving today’s major environmental challenges.
Reaching out to different audiences
Designed as a place for scientific mediation and knowledge transfer, the AgroParisTech stand is intended as a place for privileged exchanges between those who make up the establishment (administrative and technical staff, teachers or researchers, students, etc.) and the general public, the agricultural world and its professionals, and policy makers.
This year, the stand will be hosting events dedicated to forestry issues. Throughout the week, visitors will be able to learn more in a fun way about the mechanical properties of wood, discover what lies behind the word dendrochronology and explore forest flora and fauna.
A sensory hut for young and old
New for this edition: an immersive sensory hut. Designed for young children, the sensory hut is a fun and educational cocoon. Designed to arouse children’s curiosity, it invites them to venture into the mysterious world of our forests, where they can discover the secrets they hold by appealing to all their senses. This space is an invitation to a unique experience that allows young and old alike to delve into the forest world and better understand its importance for our environment.
Designed primarily for the youngest visitors, this cocoon offers activities that appeal to sensory exploration (sounds, touch, smells, etc.). It has also been designed as a relaxation area where children can discover fun books about forest flora and fauna, while comfortably curled up on large cushions.
