AgroParisTech and Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech Renew Their Partnership
July 18 2024At the scientific event organized by the ABI R&D Unit, Étienne Verrier, AgroParisTech Deputy Managing Director in charge of academic affairs, and Frédéric Francis, Dean of Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech (University of Liège, Belgium), reconfirmed the academic partnership between the two institutions and paved the way for the development of new joint projects.
A Longstanding Partnership
The agreement between AgroParisTech and Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech on their dual engineering degree/bioengineering master’s degree program is the fruit of a longstanding partnership that dates back to 1999. Even with the first dual degree agreement, signed 25 years ago in the context of the two institutions’ engineering program, it was clear that the degrees they offered were complementary and well-matched.
Since then, they have signed multiple agreements to develop joint educational offerings: a dual master’s degree in agroecology in 2016 involving the AAE (‘From Agronomy to Agroecology’) specialization of AgroParisTech’s AETPF master’s degree, and the Bioceb Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree program in 2019.
Forging Lasting Partnerships
This meeting in Reims therefore marks the beginning of a new phase in an already rich partnership, further cementing the academic and scientific ties between AgroParisTech and Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech and paving the way for new possibilities for students and researchers in every major subject area covered by our institutions, including agronomy, biotechnology, plant and animal science, and forestry.
