The DESTINY Project Launch Meeting Held at AgroParisTech
February 09 2024On January 9 and 10, the launch meeting for the DESTINY (Design and Sustainability Assessment of Innovative biomass production systems and value-chains in the Bioeconomy) Horizon Europe project was held on the AgroParisTech campus. As the project coordinator, AgroParisTech (represented by Philippe Lescoat and Benoit Gabrielle) had the privilege of hosting the other partners involved in the project (both in person and remotely), all of whom are also partners in the European Bioeconomy University Alliance (EBU).
DESTINY is a Doctoral Network for Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA). It aims to recruit and train 15 Ph.D. students. At the intersection of bioeconomy and sustainable development science, these future researchers will design sustainable bioeconomy systems for Europe that harness expertise from a wealth of disciplines ranging from agronomy to economics and the political and social sciences. DESTINY graduates will fill a clear void in the bioeconomy job market, with jobs available in agriculture, forestry, the industrial bioeconomy, academia, consulting firms, and government.
